Anoka Youth Night was December 14 and was very successful. It was reported that all girls had a good time.

It was decided that for next years Anoka Tournament that the Tournament Director and the gym time coordinator would work together to assign the gym time. This will be revisited and added under the Tournament Directors responsibilities following this years Anoka Classic Tournament.

Leah and Nancee and Ann have been busy getting the Anoka Tornado Classic Basketball Tournament organized. We will be using both the Anoka High School and Fred More Middle School on Saturday and just the High School on Sunday. There will be some fund raising tables at the tournament. Parent volunteers will be scheduled to work at some of these tables. Every parent will need to work at the tournament. Ann has finished working on the work schedule for the tournament. Parents are scheduled for 3-5 hour shifts. Nancee and Leah secured the referees. Leah is making up coaches packets to give out to all the coaches. There will also be a survey for the coaches to evaluate our tournament.

Leah is working on getting all teams registered for State. Registration is Due January 26. There will be a seeding meeting February 4th for all coaches. Each coach will need to register their team. Leah will get coaches the necessary paperwork and checks to mail in.

The Duluth Tournament was discussed and it was decided that is was a nice Tournament and every one had fun but that it was a very expensive weekend. We will be looking at visiting Eau Claire next season. Jenny will be checking into hotel arrangements.

Attention everyone- the Board will be discussing the current by-laws in February. Anyone who wishes to be a part of this discussion is strongly encouraged to attend the February 10th Board Meeting at Anoka City Hall in the large meeting room. The address is 2015 1st Ave. The meeting will run from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.. Jenny will check with Mansetties to make sure we can have the party room reserved so we have room to accommodate a larger group. Please watch the web for any changes in location. We will also be looking at other organizations to see if there are any changes to be made with our Organization. ARAGBA follows the MYAS guidelines so we will also be revisiting the MYAS Guidelines to see if any changes need to be made with our organization.

There will be two positions opening up this spring as Sue Niedenfuer and Sharon Johnson both have daughters that will be entering the 9th grade. The posted positions will be: President and Vice President. A letter of intent should be submitted no later than March 1st for any parent that is interested.

Gia presented the financial report.

Additional items:

Troy Fredenburg and a number of 6A parents attended the Board Meeting and voiced many concerns that they had regarding teams playing up and tournament play in general. It was felt that coaches should be more involved in deciding what team plays in what bracket and at what tournament. It was suggested by Leah that something be set up for free tournaments as they come up that when they are available the hosting team contacts the appropriate coach to fill an open spot. Troy was also voiced discussion regarding his team not playing in the Rogers Tournament and how the Board handled the whole Rogers Tournament. It was also suggested by another parent that one parent for every paid player gets to vote on voting issues. This is a topic that will be discussed at the February Board Meeting.

The Board and the 6A parents discussed how some of the girls and the teams are not treating each other according to the Organizations guidelines. It should be stressed to all the players and parents that according to our bylaws that participation in our organization will focus on camaraderie, sportsmanship and the intense instruction of basketball fundamentals, having fun, while traveling to other communities. We should not be making fun of any player that plays for ARAGBA. We should not discriminate against anyone because they play for the "A" team or the "B" team.

Meeting adjourned.

Next meeting is Sunday, Febuary 10th, 2007 - 7:00 p.m. We will be meeting at Anoka City Hall in the large meeting room. The address is 2015 1st Ave. The meeting will run from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.
