Meeting minutes for ARAGBA
March 2nd, 2008

Board members in attendance:
Sue Niedenfuer, Jenny Becker, Anne Vice, Gia Gunerius and Sharon Johnson, Leah Fredenburg, Morris Gifford, Nancee Bray and Dani Sherva

VISITORS: Sherri Ruf, Curt Slater, Vonda Essig, Paul Fitzgerald, Matt Zimmer and Coach Moseman

Business:

Sue Niedenfuer opened the Board meeting and welcomed all visitors and parents. Letters of intent were passed to each Board member from each candidate and each candidate explained why they wanted to be a part of the Organization and what they could bring to the Organization. All nominees were nominated according to the Bylaws by Sharon Johnson with Gia seconding the motion.

The Board will have a closed ballet vote at the next Board meeting and ballots will be counted before the close of the meeting. The new Board members will be notified by a current Board member and the results will be posted on the web by Monday at 1200 if Mike Thompson is able.

The banquet will be on Thursday March 13th at Fred Moore from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Pizza will be served. There will games and some contests for the girls in the gym following dinner. Volunteers are needed to search out prizes and offer ideas for games. Anyone able to do so should contact Sheri Ruf at chiroruf@aol.com . All players and families are reminded to RSVP to Sheri regarding how many people will be attending the banquet.

Gia presented the financial update and with this information Morris will begin looking into bids for replacing some of the uniforms.

Other Business:

Coach Moseman stated that the summer camps are tentatively planned.
   June 26th - 30th 12:00 pm - 3:00pm for 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades
   July 7th - 11th for the 6th, 7th and 8th grades from 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm
   Starting with July 1st and running on Tuesdays through July from 9:00 am - 10:30 am for grades 3rd, 4th and 5th.

Coach Moseman will be offering the camps for the younger girls in hopes of getting more girls involved and interested in basketball. There will be also some spring clinics offered on Saturday mornings in late April. It was also suggested that a 3 on 3 tourney be looked into with it being held at the Anoka High School with ARAGBA and the High School program running the Tournament and splitting the revenue.

Coach Moseman will also look into getting the 9th grade involved in our Tornado Tournament next season. Leah will check into if there is an interest of 9th grade teams from the community and how many would be interested in participating in the tournament.

Voting notes:

Board will gather to vote on April 6th. Board member will call applicants with results.

Results will posted on the web by noon the following day (if Mike is able).

Next meeting is Sunday, April 6th, 2008 - 7:00 p.m. at Mansetties in Anoka. All are welcome to attend.
